Privatization of Winnipeg's public services

Wednesday, May 20, 2009

Monique Woroniak is the Outreach Services Librarian at Winnipeg Public Library.  Her work includes the creation and promotion of library services for adult learners, newcomers, and urban Aboriginal populations.  She discusses the push to privatize public services in the Economic Opportunities Report, which has been criticized by a number of unions and progressive institutions.

She will be a featured speaker at Privatize This!, a panel discussion and public meeting about the fight to keep the public sector public.  This event is part of the Winnipeg Mayworks calendar, and is happening tomorrow, Thursday, May 21st, at 5:30pm at the Carol Shields auditorium, on the second floor of the Millenium Library.
